Field erected


The TGK / TRK-Series is a field erected open induced draft counter flow cooling tower with axial fan(s) and designed for bigger industrial installations. This type of cooling tower has a robust construction giving a great resistance to hash applications like in seismic areas or when high additional loads are applied. As a standard these towers are installed on concrete water basin and are an excellent alternative for the fully concrete execution regarding total costs, erection time and flexibility.

These cooling towers can be manufactured in different materials, interchangeable and compatible with each other, to compose a product that fully meets the needs and specification of the end-user regarding corrosion resistance and life time. Designed to meet the main international codes and standards.

All components of the tower are prefabricated in the workshop and carefully marked to minimize the assembly time.

Model TGK : Main structure is entirely made of hot dipped galvanized steel, suitable for any environmental condition. This type of cooling tower can be built-up and installed in an easy way without the involvement of a building company.

Model TRK : Main structure is made of pultruded FRP- profiles and therefore suitable for application in very aggressive and salty environments. Over more this tower has all the benefits of the model TGK and is cost effective in respect to Stainless Steel Cooling Towers.


Fan section

Ventilatorsectie TRK TGK

The TGK / TRK Series is equipped with one or more induced draft FRP high performance axial fan(s) each coupled through a vertical gearbox and balanced transmission shaft to an electric motor, protection - / insulation class IP-55 / F, installed outside the humid airflow.
The FRP fan stack is supplied in separate sections to be bolded during erection.
Standard with external electric conjunction box(es).


Waterverdeling TRK TGK

The distribution system is composed of a main internal pipe made of steel or FRP and a number of secondary tubes in PVC with PPG 3-stage anti-clogging nozzles.
The system is designed to distribute the water evenly over the exchange surface.


Warmtewisselend pakket TRK TGK

F-ILMED heat exchange package manufactured of Polypropylene or PVC, with diagonal or vertical channels, working according to the “film” principle.

Splash Warmtewisselend pakket TRK TGK

SPLASH GRID heat exchange package manufactured in PP and installed on site by stainless steel cables, working according to the “splash” principle. Suitable for dirty water with high concentration of suspended solids.

Hybride Warmtewisselend pakket TRK TGK

HYBRIDE heat exchange package type TR.U.S.T filling system consisting of modular elements manufacturer in high-thickness polypropylene, according to the “splash” principle.
ILMED IMPIANTI has designed this special filling system for polluted water with high levels of suspended solids.
The TR.U.S.T System is the natural evolution of the traditional grid system, defining new levels of strength, ease of installation, performance and durability.
The modular feature facilitates the handling and cleaning during maintenance.


Druppelvangers TRK TGK

The drift eliminators are made in modular elements of PVC or PP sheets and have an excellent efficiency.
The losses are limited to < 0,005 % of the circulating water flow.


Luchtintrede roosters TRK TGK

The louvres manufactured of galvanized steel or FRP are designed for induced draft counter flow cooling towers.
They mainly perform two functions.
• channel the incoming air flow.
• eliminate the water splash-out from the basin.
