The choice depends from the process or object to be cooled and their operating temperatures. In general the Open Cooling Towers or Closed Circuit Coolers with a clean closed cooling circuit will do the job.

If relative high operating temperatures are involved the Air Cooled Liquid Coolers or Dry Coolers are widely applicable.
